3D Game Environment & Level
-About-
This project was one of my first Unreal Engine 5 environments to be used as a game level. It is a post apocalyptic game level that takes place in a submerged city caused by a flood. The city's inhabitants have rebuilt a life with what remaining resources they have left.
Everything was created myself: Modeling, texturing, materials environment assembly, lighting, technical art, etc.Â
You can run around, jump, crouch, climb ladders, swim, etc.

-Assets-

All of the assets created are modular and either modeled in 3Ds Max, or assembled in Unreal Engine. The buildings for example are made up of individual building pieces that were snapped together in UE5. This allowed for the building variety and made it simple to make changes wherever needed to better suit the level and player experience. Building sections were also copied and used for different building types.
Assets such as the wood benches or crates, were all made up of the same wood plank and/or wood post.
-Textures & Materials-

All assets utilized an RMA map (Roughness, Metallic, Ambient Occlusion) & all textures were painted in Photoshop.
There were 2 key materials used. One was the generic material, which was for any asset utilizing unique textures such as trimsheets. The wood posts, for example, used a trimsheet. The other one, the one used the most, was the world align material, used for tileable textures. The building walls for example, used a tileable texture. The tileable material was made so you can change the size, roughness, metallic, normals, add colour variation.
